"We’re pleased to let you know that The 80th Street Residence is the first assisted living facility in the nation to earn this distinction and will be recognized as a model of dementia care in the community."

Eric J Hall
CEO, Alzheimer's Foundation of America

Today’s seniors are yesterday’s executives, politicians, artists, and business people. They are mothers, fathers, grandparents, great aunts and uncles. They’re used to the lifestyle they’ve earned and enjoyed and they shouldn’t have to lose it simply because of age and memory impairment.

The 80th Street Residence is an assisted living facility where New Yorkers suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia can enjoy their city and their lifestyle with the security of round the clock assistance. We combine comprehensive care with comfort and luxury.

Research concerning the detection, onset delay, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease is advancing rapidly. The 80th Street Residence is at the forefront in implementing the latest and most up-to-date recommended protocols. All of our nurses and attendants are specially trained in Alzheimer’s care.

As adults with dementia struggle with memory loss, it becomes more important to provide meaningful experiences that stimulate recollection. Our affiliation with the Julliard School of Music, proximity to Central Park, and frequent outings to theaters, museums, and familiar neighborhoods provide our Residents with fond recollections of the past and pleasant reminiscences of the present.

Nursing home care can be isolating. Senior living facilities are often far from home and too distant for frequent visits by family. Our home-style residence is conveniently located in Manhattan, a short drive from anywhere in New York City or the suburbs. We know that family is important to those suffering from dementia. We encourage relatives to join our Residents for meals and parties on each floor.
