Built around the individual

Our Programming Model

Thoughtfully designed. Meaningful every day.

Programs with Purpose

At The 80th Street Residence, we believe life should still feel meaningful—filled with connection, comfort, and moments of happiness.

That looks different for every Resident. Some respond to music. Others to art, movement, conversation, learning, or simply spending time with others. Our purpose is discovering what matters most to each Resident—and helping that remain part of daily life.

Every program we offer is built around the individual, with thoughtful support, meaningful engagement, and room for personal choice.

Our Programming Model

  • Individual Programs — one-to-one experiences built around each Resident’s interests, abilities, and comfort level
  • Small Group Programs — shared experiences that encourage friendship, comfort, and connection
  • Programs Designed for Engagement — purposeful activities that support the mind, body, and spirit
  • Creative Expression & Art Therapy — meaningful ways for Residents to communicate and express themselves beyond words

Individual Programs

Sometimes the most meaningful moments happen one-on-one.

Our team takes time to know each Resident—their interests, comforts, familiar routines, and what makes them happy in the moment. That helps us create experiences that feel personal, familiar, and meaningful—through music, conversation, gentle movement, reading, sensory activities, or quiet creative time.

Meaningful engagement starts with knowing the person.

Small Group Programs

Connection matters.

Our small group programs bring Residents together in comfortable, welcoming settings where they can socialize, participate, and enjoy shared experiences without feeling overwhelmed.

From music and movement to games, cooking, discussion groups, and creative activities, these moments build friendship, confidence, and belonging.

Programs Designed for Engagement

Everything we do has a purpose.

Our programs are thoughtfully designed to encourage movement, support emotional wellbeing, stimulate the mind, and strengthen social connection—all while respecting each Resident’s comfort level, independence, and sense of self.

Residents enjoy fitness classes, weekly ballroom dance, music therapy, cultural outings, volunteer opportunities, lifelong learning, and programs inspired by their own interests.

This is not about filling time. It is about helping each Resident feel comfortable, engaged, and present in the moment.

Creative Expression & Art Therapy

Art can say what words sometimes cannot.

Through one-to-one and small group art sessions, Residents explore painting, drawing, collage, poetry, movement, and other creative outlets in ways that feel natural and rewarding.

The goal is not perfection. The goal is expression, choice, connection, and participation.

Creating something personal can build confidence, reduce feelings of isolation, and help Residents feel valued and present in the moment. Their artwork becomes part of the fabric of our community—a reflection of each individual’s creativity, voice, and spirit.

Every Resident still has something meaningful to share.

Experience the Difference

At The 80th Street Residence, engagement is part of daily life. It is thoughtful. It is personal. And it is built around each Resident.

Because meaningful days are still possible—with comfort, connection, and moments that matter.
